Victorian (?) Shortbread Mould
A nice item of Victorian kitchenalia with the classic Scottish thistle pattern deeply cut into it. Just over 3 inches in diameter and made of timber. I have used it and it works well but I make triangular shortbread so it does not suit my purpose. It is in very good condition and the aged appearance is caused by the wearing off of the varnish/lacquer (?) with which it was originally coated. First €20 secures.

Two pristine ashtrays – never seen the inside of a pub – from the stock of a former publican on the Isle of Man and on sale to the first worthwhile offer. Can deliver to Central Dublin (Connolly Station) or post.
Golden Flake tobacco tin – in very good condition. Has been in use for at least 50 years, to my certain knowledge, to store draught pieces. Any interest? Contact me at collectireland@gmail.com or leave a comment here.

GUINNESS BREO BEER Six pack – complete with unopened beer.
A rare item indeed. Who remembers this famous failure from Arthur Guinness & Son?
Sunday Business Post ( 5th November, 2000)
Guinness pulls Breo as punters fail to drink up
Guinness Ireland has confirmed that Breo, its wheat beer that cost close to £5 million to develop, is to be withdrawn because of “an insufficiently large consumer base”. Breo – which means ‘glow’ in ancient Irish – was seen by many as GI’s last great hope – a chance for St James’s Gate to show Diageo, GI’s parent company, that Dublin could still create new beer products.
But it has failed spectacularly, despite a £300,000 advertising campaign. Ciaran O’Loan, new product manager at Guinness Ireland, said that, during the Breo test marketing, consumers reactions were polarised between those who really liked it and those who loathed it.
Discovered recently in the back of a wardrobe this unique survivor, complete with 6 unopened bottles of the brew (for the daring drinker as is well past sell by date) would grace any private bar or breweriana collection. Sadly I cannot post – I suppose courier could be arranged but would be expensive.
* I will not take the labels off as some previous enquirers have suggested and they are sold as seen here.
COLLECTION ONLY or can be delivered to Central Dublin (adjacent to Connolly Station or to any other station between Enniscorthy and Dublin). Or possibly by courier – you arrange!
